Mr Napoleon Pato arrived in Sydney on Wednesday 28th October 2009.  Mr Napoleon Pato was greeted by Mr. Sam Ward president of Assyrian Aid Society - Australia and several committee members.  Assyrian Aid Society Australia invited Mr Napoleon Pato as a special guest of honour to be part of AAS-Au 10th year celebration held in Sydney on 31st October 2009.

 

 

Friday 30th October 2009, SBS Radio interview with Mr. Ninos Kako both Mr Napoleon Pato and Mr. Youash Tower reported briefly on the current circumstances of Assyrian Aid Society Iraq and Australia respectfully.  The main aim of the radio interview is to raise awareness among the Assyrian communities living in Australia in relation to AAS Iraq and globally, its main role and services it provides for the Assyrian communities living in Iraq, and its relationships with other global organisation that have been and are continually supporting AAS-Iraq.    

 

Saturday 31st October AAS 10th anniversary celebration held at Assyrian Sports and Cultural Club; with special guest of honour Mr Napoleon Pato president of Assyrian Aid Society Iraq, among other guests were honourable Mr. Joe Tripoli NSW minister for Finance, Mr. Ninos Khoshaba state MP, Iraqi Councillor General in Sydney Mr. Muhsin Younis Abdul-majid Al-Samaree, Fairfield city councillor Mr. Andy Rohan, Mr. Zaya Toma, Mr Samir Yousif, president of Australian business party Mr. Joseph Adam and representatives of Assyrian organisation in Sydney.   

 

This occasion was to mark AAS-Au 10 year’s celebration of its progress in Australia, over 350 people attended with great success, enjoying the Assyrian food, music and dancing.  AAS Au committee was able to sign up many new contributors on monthly direct debit forms.  Additionally, generous donations were received from various Assyrian organisations and individuals.  Tree Of Life an annual publication was placed on every table to reach and raise awareness among the attendees.      

 

 

12th November Mr Napoleon Pato met with Bishop Gebrael Kassab Chaldean Catholic Diocese of Australia & New Zealand. Main discussion were about Assyrian Aid Society implements projects in Iraq, additionally Mr Pato discussed the establishment of AAS in Iraq.  Mr Napoleon Pato found Bishop Gebrael Kassab very warm, welcoming and showed interest for the work of AAS Iraq.

 

Sunday 15th November 2009 AAS AGM and Rally with Mr Napoleon Pato; Each year AAS-Au holds an Annual General Meeting, to present briefly its role within the Assyrian communities, its finances ie money raised through activities held, funds transferred to AAS-Iraq and its aims and objectives for the following year.  A new president and committee members were also elected for the upcoming year.  This followed by Mr. Napoleon Pato giving a comprehensive talk on AAS Iraq its main role and the services it provides to the Assyrians in Iraq.  And the importance of funds to the Assyrian schools, giving special attention in details of expenses needed that arises in bringing the Assyrian education to a level that is equivalent to other educational institutions in Iraq. There were many questions raised by the public that attended this rally, Mr. Napoleon Pato was happy to have them answered, and to their satisfaction.             

 

Monday 16th November 2009 Assyrian Universal Alliance and Federation; committee members welcomed a meeting with Mr. Napoleon Pato, Mr.Youash Tower, Mr. Edmond kelaita and Ms Shoushan Tower and discussed the importance of our community in uniting and supporting each other. This was followed by dinner invitation by the committee members of AUA and Federation committee on 22nd Nov 2009 at the Ashor Club Horsley Park Sydney. Mr Napoleon Pato and AAS Au committee members accepted the invitation and enjoyed the warm gesture and friendly relationship they received.

 

Wednesday 18th November 2009 Mr Napoleon Pato met with Assyrian Chaldean Syriac Council.  Mr Napoleon Pato was greeted with a warm welcome from ACSC committee members, various items were discussed.     

 

Sunday 22th November 2009 Seminar was held at Mar Geowrgis church at Eastlakes Sydney.  Mr Napoleon Pato was the main speaker, and Mar Daniel Yako Bishop Diocese of Australia & NZ was also present.  Mr Napoleon gave a comprehensive talk on the work of Assyrian Aid Society in Iraq since the establishment in 1991 to current times. Few of the AAS Au committee members was also present.  There were many questions rose among the public who attended, with Mr Napoleon giving them the feed back by answering all of their concerns. The outcome of this seminar was that AAS-Au committee was able to sign up new monthly direct debit forms contributors, distributed money boxes and received generous donations from individuals.    

 

Thursday 26th November 2009 Mr Napoleon attended Parliament house Macquarie Street Sydney.  The speaker of the house announced and welcomed Mr Napoleon Pato as guest in the Sydney Australia and as representative of Assyrian Aid Society Iraq.
 

Friday 27th November 2009 Mr Napoleon Pato and Assyrian Aid Society committee members meet with his holiness Mar Malki Bishop of Syriac Orthodox Church in Australia and New Zealand.  The main discussion was about the circumstances of the Christian people living in Iraq, and the role of Assyrian Aid Society that is engaged in supporting our people in Iraq.

 

 

Sunday 6th December 2009 Seminar was held at Mar Zaia Ancient Church of the East; with Mar Daniel Yako bishop Diocese Australia & New Zealand present. Youash Tower president of Assyrian Aid society - Australia gave a brief speech followed by Mr Napoleon Pato speech, in which he outlined the main tasks that Assyrian Aid Society Iraq is engaged in supporting and providing services to Assyrian communities living in Iraq.  AAS Au committee members took the task in signing up new monthly direct debit forms contributors, distributed many money boxes and received generous donation from Assyrian individuals.   

 

 

Sunday 13th December 2009 a seminar was held at Ishtar reception Melbourne;

The meeting was chaired by AAS committee member Sarhad Hozaya with Youash Tower president of AAS-Au  present, followed by Mr Napoleon Pato in which he address in his speech the Assyrian Aid Society Iraq its role, commitment, and services it provides to the Assyrians living in Iraq.  There were numerous questions addressed to Mr Napoleon Pato in which he anticipated by answering and fulfilling their concerns.  AAS-Au committee members had the opportunity to sign up new monthly direct debit forms contributors.  

 
 

 Monday 28th December 2009 Mr Napoleon Pato departed from Sydney to Wellington New Zealand. He was met by Zaya Khnania the president of Assyrian Aid Society NZ and committee members. On 21st January 2010 Mr. Napoleon departed NZ heading to Iraq to join with his family and friends.
